MillerCoors and OBRC

“Waste is simply a resource out of place.”-Bill Coors

We are experienced at recycling. More than 50 years ago, Bill Coors began a program called Cash for Cans, offering consumers a penny per can or bottle returned for recycling. By 1965, the company collected more than 13 million cans with a nearly 85 percent recovery rate. We still believe that waste can be reduced, reused or recycled and are working to achieve zero waste to landfill at our eight major breweries.

Through Graybeal Distributing’s partnership with the OBRC (Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative), our vision for the state of Oregon is to establish a series of statewide redemption centers. This will insure the continued growth of recycling while relieving the take-back burden for retailers and consumers. We support the OBRC each day with can and bottle recycling at our warehouse, trucks for community group recycling fund-raisers, and our product containers are recyclable at any retail recycling center. We are proud to continue the legacy of environmental stewardship that Bill Coors began in 1971.
